SKILLFUL MEANS INC
STRATEGY & ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Skillful Means’ leadership development practice focuses on two complementary disciplines:
“Facilitative Leadership” is a practice primarily developed by Interaction Associates and the Interaction Institute for Social Change. It highlights seven practices appropriate for leaders who seek to inspire the best from team members and share leadership responsibilities as widely as appropriate.
We have trained leaders from the nonprofit sectors from Albania to Uzbekistan, translating materials and concepts into Bulgarian, Czech, French, Hungarian, Mongolian, Romanian and Russian and developed special versions for Roma (gypsy) leaders in Central Europe
“If you bring the appropriate people together in constructive ways with credible information, they will create authentic visions and strategies for addressing the shared concerns of the organization or community...”
David Chrislip, 2002
We have worked closely with David Chrislip, author of The Collaborative Leadership Fieldbook (2002) and co-author of “Collaborative Leadership” (1994) to elaborate and field test concepts and tools which permit leaders from diverse constituencies and with divergent priorities to agree on courses of action on contentious civic, political and public health issues.
